I am Homeless

How we help homeless people

The NPRAS Scheme helps  homeless city residents to find good-quality private rented accommodation.

This is one of the things we do best

There are many benefits of securing a private rented property. You have more flexibility on area preference and the type of property you would like to live in. The NPRAS team can offer support and advice with searching for a suitable private rented property and offers a one off tenancy training course that covers money management and basic repairs.

You are only eligible for NPRAS support if you have an open case with Nottingham City Council. If you are homeless or at risk of homelessness and you are yet to approach Nottingham City Council please make a self-referral and complete the Housing Self-Assessment here.

When looking for a suitable private rented property there are certain documents you should receive by law at the start of your tenancy. All documents should be in date:

• Gas Safety Certificate
• Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)
• Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR)
• Tenancy Agreement
• How to Rent Guide

If you have been assessed by Nottingham City Council and confirmed as a Rough sleeper, we have a small budget so we can purchase a few items such as beds and bedding etc.
